The Royal Vauxhall Tavern stages Pricked – Sleeping Beauty Got Woke.

queer London panto

Following the cancelations of most of the shows last year, The RVT has decided to bring back Pricked but with a slight 2021 makeover. Script writers, Tim Benzie and Paul Joseph, relate the fantastic tail of Sleeping Beauty. Sleeping Beauty is cast as a wanna be pop star princess who’s been free and easy with every boy who’s wandered into the woods.  The show casts a privileged Prince searching for an independent woman, a Raven with identity issues, a frustrated fairy who’s out of practice … and was never very good to begin with. And you can’t have a panto with out a villain, so enter the magnificent Maleffluent who’s as insecure and as attention seeking as she is evil. Expect classic panto tunes and laughs a plenty as queer panto comes to London courtesy of The RVT!

Tickets £20 or £18 for RVT members. Show runs from 25th November2021 to 6th January 2022. Tickets at The RVT.
