With soil-soaked jeans and dirt under their fingernails, 19-year-old Pip is trying to find themself through gardening. However, with a father more interested in plants than people and a mother stuck in the past, they are left to ponder life’s questions alone.

One day, they discover a jacket in the attic that has been gathering dust. Bold, vibrant, and very much reminiscent of the ’80s, it contains a diary belonging to someone long gone in its pocket. Intrigued by the mystery, Pip is determined to uncover the past, revealing secrets about an old friend that their parents do not want to discuss.

Funny, poignant, and beautifully queer, Lavender, Hyacinth, Violet, Yew explores a family’s efforts to reconcile with their past in order to plant the seeds for a better future. This world premiere production is written by Coral Wylie, an alumni of the Emerging Writers’ Group, and directed by Debbie Hannan (known for Overflow). The cast includes the writer, along with BAFTA and Olivier Award nominee Omari Douglas (It’s a Sin and Constellations), Wil Johnson (Leave Taking), and Pooky Quesnel (Ralph & Katie).”
