Critically acclaimed theatre company and Pleasance Associate Artists Maybe You Like It will make their London debut at Pleasance Theatre from 22 April – 9 May 2026 with the hilarious PowerPoint farce Sorry (I Broke Your Arms and Legs).

Sorry (I Broke Your Arms and Legs) features a young Sam Wilson who uses a humorous PowerPoint presentation to make his case for why he should be Head Boy. Performer James Akka (from Talamasca and Netflix’s The Sandman, as well as Thanks A Lot, Milton Jones! on BBC Radio 4) brings a comedic flair to this original show as he navigates chaos and confronts the reality that he’s not the only student vying for the Head Boy position. The performance serves as a hilarious commentary on youthful ambition and the extreme lengths (and harm) students will go to in order to achieve their goals.

James Akka, writer and performer of Sorry (I Broke Your Arms and Legs), told QX, I’m so excited to finally give this show a home in London after touring it around the UK to such success. Anyone who has ever been 12 can laugh at all the dramas of that age, from being moved down a set in Maths, to asking out a girl at the disco – but they can also feel the enormity of those things to a kid like Sam. I hope they’ll take him into their hearts and then laugh at him for an hour. Audiences want a new generation of queer stories for an era beyond gay marriage, and they want theatre that doesn’t compromise on laughs – I can’t wait to share this show with them.

On the queer themes of the show, he added, ‘We’ve really loved seeing LGBTQ+ audience members connect with Sam’s story. I wanted to look at how being in the closet can feel in an era where, in many communities, it’s ‘okay to be gay’. When I was young, being secretly gay sometimes felt further down my list of priorities than my biology homework, but it undoubtedly had a big impact on my sense of self – I wanted this play to speak to that, but more importantly, I wanted it to be very, very funny.’

Price: from £10

Running Time 60 mins

Sorry (I Broke Your Arms and Legs) runs from 22 April – 9 May 2026, at Pleasance Theatre, Carpenters Mews, North Road, London N7 9EF, United Kingdom.

Sorry features at The Pleasance as part of a double bill with Down To Chance, another fringe hit from Maybe You Like It, a ‘deftly staged thriller’ (The Stage) following the incredible true story of a community in crisis following the Great Alaskan Earthquake. Audience members purchasing tickets for both shows will receive a 20% discount.
