Kate Hamill’s eccentric contemporary comedy makes its UK premiere at the Arcola Theatre Studio 1 from 28 November to 20 December 2025.

Visit Arcola Theatre if you’re looking for something a bit different this Christmas, as their raucous re-vamp of Britain’s most iconic detective duo takes to the stage.

From one of America’s most-produced playwrights comes Ms Holmes & Ms Watson – Apt. 2B, a whip-smart, darkly comic collision of classic mystery and modern mayhem, feminist force and queer chaos!

Kate Hamill reimagines Holmes and Watson as a fiercely funny, gloriously dysfunctional duo navigating post-pandemic London with sharp wits and banter. Packed with hijinks, high-stakes sleuthing and a bold feminist twist, this play dives headfirst into the chaos of contemporary Baker Street.

Stepping into Sherlock’s coat is the critically-acclaimed actor-comedian Lucy Farrett, best known for Julia Davis’ comedy Sally4Ever (HBO), joined by partner in crime Simona Brown (A24’s Dreaming Whilst Black), taking the role of Watson. Playing Lestrade/Elliot Monk, we have Tendai Humphrey Sitima, who has made recent waves in the National Theatre’s A Strange Loop, and Mrs Hudson/Irene Adler will be portrayed by Alice Lucy, best known for starring as Heidi in Mad Heidi, voted Top Five Action Films by The New York Times.
