01/12/11: OH. MY. DAYZ. It’s only my favourite bleedin’ time of the year, gurl! Freshly immac’d from the tits down, off she sauntered to Ku Lisle Street, where a bevy of gorgeous bar boys were being oiled up backstage, as they nervously await the salivating, yet charitable, Ku punters.

Sadly, due to my inappropriately handsy WAD oiling incident of 2008, I’m no longer allowed to be within fifty feet of serving staff who are being greased up. But my loss is The Food Chain’s gain, as a plethora of mouthwatering boys were paraded out to tune of hundreds of pounds each.

I always feel sorry for the first one out, as it usually takes the customers at least one or two boys to get liquored warmed up. But once they did, that charitable cash was flowing out like a gushing waterfall – honestly, give it a few years and the Ku punters could club together and buy the Eurozone.

Boogaloo Stu and Vicki Vivacious were your glamorous hosts, as Miss V, Ku’s ultimate sexy biatch, glided around, hawking widescreen TV’s and hampers with the vigour of a King’s Cross hooker. Meanwhile, the divine Boogaloo Stu – what can we say – quick witted, hilarious and a truly nice person: we’re on our knees, worshipping at your retina-searing outfits.
Towards the end of the bidding, Ku Bar Mama/legend Michele Cremona was put up for auction, and she made sure Ku Gaffer Gary Henshaw joined her, with the devilishly delightful duo raising a whopping £700!

They and the rest of the pieces-of-meat-for-a-great-cause headed upstairs to the champagne reception, where the highest bidders knocked back bubbles and canapés – served, but mostly eaten, by yours truly.
The very fact I’m ending this review not remembering how I left the building shows it was yet another legendary Ku World AIDS Day Auction.

The money raised was still being calculated as we went to print (we lost count on the night, but it’s into the thousands), and the bar boys, hardworking staff, customers, hosts, absolutely everyone involved should be congratulated for yet another fantastic and worthwhile event. Well done, guys.
