Out From The Centre

This bold new exhibition presented by METRO charity and illustrates the transformative power of community action. For over 40 years, METRO has advocated for diverse, accessible, and inclusive services, from fighting Section 28 to establishing London’s first community-based HIV and STI clinic.

Visitors are invited to explore this fresh, multisensory, and interactive experience, which showcases more than 40 years of rich history.

Spanning two floors, Out From the Centre features powerful original materials from the Bishopsgate Institute’s archives, including protest placards, T-shirts, photographs, newspaper clippings, video footage, and a panel from the UK AIDS Memorial Quilt.
