HustlaBall London returns for a weekend of events for Pride, celebrating 15 years of hedonistic excellence. Promoter Alex Erfan reveals all…
Tell us a bit about the history of Hustlaball, how did it start?
2013 is HustlaBall’s 15th year. It all started in New York City in 1998 as an event to raise awareness and acceptance of adult entertainers and escorts by the gay community. That they were real people in their own right and a celebration of the fun they can and do bring.
There are many sex and fetish theme nights on the gay scene it seems. What sets Hustlaball apart from them?
For one, HustlaBall isn’t just a sex night, in fact in London it isn’t just a one night event anymore! The HustlaBall Weekend is drawing together some sixty-plus international porn models from a variety of studios including part of the launch campaign of the UK’s newest studio. Plus, there’s the Hotrods British Gay Porn Awards on the Friday evening, the Main Event which this year is also the Official Pride After Party, and then the HustlaBall After-Party with Trade starting at 5am on the Sunday morning.
The scale of HustlaBall makes it unique, the 20 minute live sex showcases from each of the porn studios, and whilst there is a theme – “Director’s Cut” – it isn’t a clear cut twink/bear/jock/muscle/daddy event. All facets of porn are represented and celebrated. It isn’t just about acknowledging that porn exists, its about stating: porn exists, it’s fun, it’s erotic, it’s for you and it’s within your reach.
What else is happening on the night?
There are the dark rooms and the playroom area, under the watchful eye of Hard On’s Suzie Krueger, and there are also international DJs in a huge venue. HustlaBall is unique, more than a sex night, more than a circuit party, the lovechild of eroticism and dance party.
Can you let us know any of the wildest stories that have happened at HustlaBalls before?
None of the wildest stories are printable! But let’s paint an image. Over 60 of the worlds hottest gay porn performers passing each other in the backstage area, house music in the air and testosterone everywhere. As soon as their showcase is done, there is still a whole night of fun and passion, you might be a studio exclusive for DVD and photo shoot purposes, but behind the scenes people can get ‘friendly’.
How do you decide which of the boys and men from the big porn studios to feature on the night?
Other than the HustlaBall exclusives that we bring to the event ourselves, we can request certain stars from the studios they work for. The final line-up is agreed between the studios and ourselves. The studios and their directors will get together those models who will be able to perform the best erotic cabaret live on stage for our attendees.
Headlining this year is Trenton Ducatti, with Lito Cruz and Tommy Defendi as HustlaBall exclusives. From Men.com we have Paddy O’Brian. Christopher Daniels, Marco Sessions, Antonio Aguilera and many more. I cant give you too many details but they will be performing with no holds barred and everything on show. But you get to meet them off the stage as well as admiring them on the stage.
