Get yourself along to exceptionally stylish venue Barcode this weekend and you’ll find Tik Tok rocking the proverbial boat all over the shop, bringin’ you the beats, the players, the hearts and the sizzlin’ atmosphere you’ve been crying out for this side of the Balearic isles. We caught up with promoter and composer extraordinaire of the gleeful madness, Kiki Santana…

How did you get involved in Tik Tok?

I always liked clubbing. I lived here a few years ago and I remember how fantastic the clubs were in London. They had a very inclusive feel where everyone went regardless of their scene or age. I especially liked Barcode in Soho, which was fantastic and very friendly. Barcode Vauxhall has a similar feel with friendly people working there and partying so it felt like the best place to host my party.

What is Tik Tok all about?

I moved back to Spain and carried on having fun in clubland over there. I made a few parties that people liked and I always wanted to do something more professional. That didn’t happen until I came back to London. I have been friends with Michal, the GM at Barcode for some time – we share an ex! He spoke to me about wanting something at the club and Tik Tok happened. Once a month is great because it doesn’t get boring and each time is unique.

What kind of crowd are you aimed at?

Tik Tok is about bringing all kinds of people together to have fun and be happy with music playing. I don’t care if your L, G, B, GT, hairy, smooth or whatever, as long as you are cool. There are only two kinds of people: cool or not cool. All cool people mix together, well that’s what I like, a friendly, happy group of people having fun together.

Tell us about the next party…

I have a preference for my music, which is house, disco, 2electro, but if it is good music, we play it. On Saturday, we have Severino, Borja Pena, Guy Williams, Alex Georgiou and Nico de Ceglia. My friend La Pequena is away but we have Raul Pony and Deborah Hombres hosting. If you find a unicorn hiding take it to the bar and you get a free shot! Oh yes, I forgot to say I really like unicorns. They are my favourite mythical animal and the gayest!

• Tik Tok is on Saturday 22nd February at Barcode (69 Albert Embankment, Vauxhall, SE1 7TP), 10pm-8am.
