Ollie is a vocalist in the south London band the Scarlet Roses. You wouldn’t believe it but Ollie actually started to go bald when he was just a teenager, like his grandfather.

Before he would use snapback’s and flat caps to hide his premature ageing but now he has found a new way of living and it’s called Scalp Micro Pigmentation.

Not wanting to waste money on a hair transplant that has no guarantee of effective results, he found online a solution that has been around about 10 years, but new to the UK high street. It involves a medical hairline tattoo, using permanent ink to replicate the look of hair follicles. Ever heard the bald joke ‘you can always get fake hair tattooed on’. Well this is no joke. Different from a normal tattoo, SMP at Skalp only uses only the highest quality toned ink, meaning no fading or green/ blue tingeing. It also only penetrates the dermal layer of the skin on the scalp, so it’s less painful too!

The results are impressive, the level of accuracy means that even up close there’s no telling where the real hair ends and the SMP begins. While the procedure does not make any hair grow, it gives the look of a closely cropped, full head of hair. Ollie chose a semi-defined hairline with angular side profiles to frame his face, making it look very natural.

Performing at gigs across the UK, including pride in Birmingham as well as music videos online, confidence is a huge part of his everyday life. Which he started to lose with his hair?  After years of personal struggle as many go through, the improvement in appearance is a breath of fresh air.  An imperfection that is completely crushed and no longer needs worrying about. Although the difference to Ollie is drastic, to family and friends it’s a subtle step meaning its possible to (and some do) go completely incognito about ever having the procedure.

Not Ollie though. He is an enthusiast of the life changing results of the treatment. So much so after becoming an SMP evangelist, he is now a fully qualified practitioner as part of the Skalp team. He chose Skalp for their excellent customer support and service, knowing what it means to lose your hair without much console you. Skalp are the leaders at Micro Pigmentation with 3 clinics across the UK. Just look at their plentiful testimonials of genuinely content clients.
