Cabaret sensation Silver Summers is BACK, with a new look, a new act, and a new cover photo. Her Mariah Carey tribute night hits Bloc Bar on November 8th in a sparkling glitterbomb of sequins, sass and scintillating vocals.

We spoke to her about plans for the future, chocolate, and the queen Mariah herself.

SO, we love that the night’s called It’s Like That. That’s our favourite Mariah Carey song. What’s yours?

Good taste darling! Mine is the underrated gem ‘H.A.T.E.U’. It’s literally the best break up song ever written!

She looks a bit like a giant Ferrero Rocher in the video. What’s your confectionary of choice?

Pahaha! It would have to be a Curly Wurly. Just because it’s funny to say in a Scottish accent.

Mariah Carey has had a lot of fab moments. Which one has been your fave?

Well 18 number ones is hard to top but for me it was her acceptance speech for breakthrough actress in ‘Precious’ when she was drunk! Absolute gold!

And what do you think her lowest moment was?

When the press completely overreacted to the Glitter debacle. It was released on 9/11 2001! She was tired and overworked but they said she had a breakdown. #dramaqueens

Do you think she’ll be there on the night?

I sent her a text but unfortunately she is having a Mean Girls marathon night with Dem Babies… Gutted!

If you could take Mariah out in London for dinner, drinks, then a dance, where would you take her?!

Well we would go to Brick Lane for a curry then swing into Bloc Bar for a frozen Margarita (where we would have to use the upstairs as V.I.P daaaahling) Then a kebab to end the night!

And finally…what else is in store for Silver Summers this year?

Besides getting The Fabulettes back on track and Spicing it up in Spiceworld, I am actually going to begin recording some original Silver Summers music which I am writing as we speak!!! So watch this ‘drag’ space gurl!

• It’s Like That starts Sunday November 8th at Bloc Bar (18 Kentish Town Road, NW1 9NX), 5pm-1am. Free entry.
