What’s Brewing At The Brewers

The Two Brewers

Here’s what’s cropping up this week at famed Clapham boozer The Two Brewers.

Don’t you just love a naughty night out at The Two Brewers? There’s nothing quite like it, bring together the darling gay populace of Clapham under one roof. Whether it’s all-out drag anarchy, or for a quiet Sunday drink, it’s always the perfect go-to. Here’s a look into what’s cropping up at Clapham’s favourite queer boozer The Two Brewers:

FRIDAY 31st January

C’est La Ball

Make way for The Vixens! This titillating trio has an unquenchable thirst for pop hits. This Friday night, get ready for an injection of pure pop energy as these gallivanting gals try to answer the age-old question…  Which girl band reigns supreme? Pitting Spice Girl against Little Mixer, it’s a gloves-off battle for the heart of this homosexual crowd. Paying homage to the groups that inspired their very existence, The Vixens ALWAYS bring it to the Ball. Why you gaggin’ so? Once they’ve served all that they can possibly give, it’s over to DJ Liam Chaplin on the back bar decks, and DJ Demon up front to dish out salubrious slices of chart bangers. Also swanning about the place will be footy fanatics the London Titans FC, all decked out in their matching football outfits. Apparently, they’re called… kits?

8pm – 4am. Free before 10pm, £7 after.

SATURDAY 1st February

Saturday Night Party

One of those “does what it says on the tin” kind of events. It’s a party, and it’s on Saturday night. SIMPLE. Well, perhaps deceptively so. A night out at The Brewers is always far from simple. From Hinge matches eyeing you up to ex-boyfriends eyeing you down. The Clapham gays love the drama. Taking to the glittering stage this week is a drag duo that is sure to leave you elated and addled. First up on stage at the stroke of 9 pm it’s Drag Idol royalty Karla Bear. This Australia native has a stellar set of pipes on her and is sure to bring the house down. Then at 11:30 pm, Miss Penny arrives to dance around in the rubble.

5pm – 4am. Free before 9pm, £8 after.

SUNDAY 2nd February

The Power of Four

You know, you wait all week for a drag queen and then suddenly for come along at once! Wait… that might be buses. Anyhow, this Sunday at The Brewers they’re celebrating four of the drag scene’s most delicious characters. Lined up, one after the other, this is one cabaret marathon that is sure to cure that hangover and get you ready for another work week. First up it’s the viper-tongued Myra DuBois at 5:30 pm who’s ready to tear you down with just the puckering of her lips. Then making a triumphant return after the night before is Miss Jason at 7:30 pm. Following on at 9 pm is haggis-spewing princess Mary Mac who never fails to bring the positive vibes. Then, wrapping up an all-out weekender of drag mischief is Sandra, on stage at 11 pm. Her brand of filth is exactly what you need to keep you out longer than you should be on a Sunday. There’s no going wrong with a Sunday at The Brewers, with happy hour drinks ‘til 7:30 pm and fabulous camp pop musical interludes courtesy of DJ Demon.

5 pm – 2 am. Free before 8 pm, £5 after.
