The romantic gift of queer poetry for Valentine’s Day …
A tender book of romantic poetry by South African born poet and performer Douglas Graham Wilson is being published by Wordville in time for 2022’s season of love. The 26-page pamphlet titled Of Love and Other Maladies is Douglas Graham Wilson’s debut poetry collection and contains 16 original works by the popular spoken word performer.
The book reflects on fluid sexuality and love, capturing sensual experiences, from instant attraction to heart ache and hopefulness. A touching exploration of romance that resonates, with the beauty of nature, to discover what it means to love.
Published by Wordville on Valentine’s Day 2022, Of Love and Other Maladies will be available directly from the publisher in advance of its publication date, for those who want to share Douglas’ work as a gift to a loved one. Following publication, the book will be available worldwide, online and at book shops on request.
Publisher Lucy Tertia George has been a fan of Douglas’s work for years: ‘Wordville focuses on performing arts in print,’ she said, ‘Douglas’s captivating performances at poetry salons made him one of our firm favourites. This book successfully shows his talent with words and imagery translates from the stage to the page.’
Douglas Graham Wilson: ‘Working with Wordville has been an amazing creative collaboration and I am so excited for my work to go out into the world.’
