The Q is part of Sight Unseen, a season of plays curated by Isabel Adomakoh Young for The Takeover at The King’s Head Theatre. Her season is an eclectic mix of shows unpacking untold stories and histories with an LGBTQI+ focus.

“People. Standing in a line. Looking for love. That is history. It is a love story.”

A rapid-fire, state-of-the-nation satire and the very first play to be set in the context of the most absurd yet moving spectacle of 2022: the queue for the lying-in-state of Queen Elizabeth II.

Mansel David’s joyous performance as Venetia leads us to the play’s emotional core.

A poignant and powerful play, packed full of laughs and tears, bringing together adulterous doctors, wannabe (Christian) rockstars, ailing drag queens, and manic-depressive housewives, and placing them all in the queue formed to mourn a beloved, lately-departed monarch.

The Q runs from 10th to 16th April 2023, at King’s Head Theatre, 115 Upper St, London N1 1QN, United Kingdom.
