The exhibition is inspired by the images of the windows we all walk past every day without noticing how amazing and creative they are – worlds within themselves.

Many of the images were taken during lockdown when, bizarrely, the shops kept changing the windows even though no-one could access the shops.

WINDOW SHOPPING
From the first great glazed arcades of 18th Century Paris to the opulence and vulgarity of todays shopfronts the world over, there is an undeniable thread linking all – Fantasy!
No longer are they the exclusive domain of the rich, we can all view their magnificence, their treasures, their dreams.
Window shopping provides not only pleasure, but a means of keeping up with the worlds of fashion, tech, beauty, art and travel.
They feed us information.
They feed us lies.
They feed us every fantasy we could ever dream of, and some we could never have imagined.
For myself, shop windows are an art form, the genius and sensory overload of design and spectacle can rival any museum or gallery.
Miniature worlds are displayed on elevated stages, landscapes are recreated in shadowboxes, and, occasionally, just one perfectly lit object will take your breath away.
Come and be amazed at the wonders of Shop Windows in my Window Shopping exhibition at the Bonnington Gallery this July.
