Co-founders Antoine and Mikel — one French, one Spanish — met as friends, not entrepreneurs. When 2023 knocked them both to their knees, they decided to make light of it. Literally. What began as a coping ritual became a business: hand-poured, proudly queer scented candles designed to turn the flick of a match into self-expression.
Every fragrance is a wink and a nod to a liberated sex life under the rainbow. Each one is hand-crafted in small London batches with vegan soy wax and custom oil blends. “We wanted to capture the feeling of queer intimacy: playful, intricate, heavily flirtatious, but deeply beautiful,” says Antoine. “Each flame tells a story, just like the people who burn them.”
In addition to supporting a myriad of raffles and fundraisers, the mix of artistry and audacity has made GOOD BOI one of the most distinctive names in queer retail. The brand’s collaborations already include Queer Britain, Billy Porter’s play This Bitter Earth, Queer Minds Festival, and the Impulse Charity.
Beyond cheeky names and seductive scents lies a deeper purpose: reclaiming joy. “We started this because we were struggling,” Mikel adds. “Now we get to make something that helps people feel proud of who they are. That’s powerful.”
