Bootylicious session of Skate Lates. Thursday 21 November from 8 pm. Ice skating with Music By Bootylicious DJs. Or meet them at the bar.

About Bootylicous

Bootylicious is London’s longest-running club night for QTPOC. Established in 2001, it has been a trailblazing force on London’s club scene. It was one of the earliest clubs in the capital to strive for diversity on the DJ lineup and the dance floor. During its existence, it has been hosted by several venues in South and Central London; now, it is based at one of the last remaining independent Underground venues in Zone 1, Club Union, within spitting distance of the Vauxhall Tube/Rail/Bus station.

Walking into the somewhat lived-in railway arch that is Club Union, you are immediately drawn to the chatty and lively vibe of Bootylicious

The dance floors are full, the bars are busy, and as the writer for British Vogue Magazine put it, This isn’t a club to disappear into with your mates. There’s no separation between groups. The dance floor pulses as one. People who’ve never been to Bootylicious immediately feel like they have arrived home.

Once you get to know the club and its people, you will realise just how central Bootylicious has been to many lives. Uncounted love affairs and long-standing friendships started at Bootylicious. Everyone is there to have a good time, meet new people, and catch up with friends—no time for shade or pretence. But perhaps because of this attitude, you see sexy people everywhere you turn. Beauty is not just about looks; it is about an attitude and a way of being.

Booty is all about the vibes. The first room with the main bar sets the tone with popular tunes that ease you into the club with a bit of old school Dancehall, or Disco-House, and a lot of RnB-Hiphop classics. Once you get past the first bar and dancefloor a much larger floor opens up, this one is all about Dancehall, Amapiano, and Afroswing. Once you squeeze past the main dancefloor you get to the mezzanine bar with lots of space to sit down, or to stand up, to be seen and to make eyes and to chat.

The club is known around the UK, Europe and around the world, and for special events such as the bank holidays, there are plenty of people who make their way to London, with Bootylicious being one of the reasons they come to London.

Bootylicious 30 November, 11 pm – 6 pm (last entry 4 am) at Club Union, 66 Albert Embankment, Vauxhall, London SE1 7TP, United Kingdom.
