Queer Britain Museum
Oct 8 @ 12:00 pm – 6:00 pm
Free
Queer Britain Museum is a riot of voices, objects and images from the worlds of activism, art, culture and social history covering over 100 years of queer life. Alongside the permanent evolving collection, there are special temporary exhibitions planned for 2025:
Top by Claye Bowler (10 September-23 November). Admission is free and tickets can be booked at www.queerbritain.org.uk.
This exhibition, presented as a museum store, draws on Bowler’s experience as a museum registrar to create an archive documenting his seven-year journey through the UK’s healthcare system to access gender-affirming top surgery. It chronicles everything from the artist’s initial visit to a general practitioner (GP) to his recovery after surgery revisions.
Queer Britain is a charity (1180240) without any regular government funding support, and solely relies on donations and memberships.
