WE PARTY LONDON: ‘PHARAOH’

03/03/12: They say nobody parties like the Spanish. I say throw in Brit lads; plus a couple hundred boys originating from almost every continent there is, across three floors – and it’ll be something like WE Party last weekend!

London’s party-loving gay patrons blitzed the streets leading to The Coronet when the Spanish originated super-bash hit the capital’s scene again on Saturday. This time the event was back to take us back in a big way, with an Egyptian theme – presenting an array of fulsome figured Pharaohs and chest bearing concubines that certainly never seemed to get old, let alone ancient.

No expense was spared; from flashing hieroglyphic screens to showers of steam, roaring fireballs to resounding confetti explosions – and all the while a DJ line-up consisting of gargantuan players such as D’Johnny, Gonzalo, Manuel de Diego, Paul Heron and Jamie Head served house baselines like it was the last days of civilization, while guest spinner Carlos Gallardo played a decidedly Spanish style set of big vocals and beats.

From the building’s top floor to the bottom – with home grown, super club Room Service’s representatives providing just that in-between in Room 2 – a chiselled, topless and tempo-crazed crowd bucked and writhed non-stop from 11pm to 7am. Three hours in and there wasn’t a dry wall, throat, tongue or torso as far as the eye could see – bass faces and bare bodies seemed to occupy every square metre of space the venue could offer! Not that it stopped anybody from being accommodating…

So here’s the final word – if you like your boys buff, your house hard, your surroundings sensational and your weekends a world away from the 9-to-5, WE know just where you’ll be next time the show’s in town!
