Orange On Air

Woop! Tony English is back on Orange Radio, we caught with the legendary DJ/presenter to find out what’s happening across those Orange airwaves.

What was the highlight for the Orange Nation show in 2015?

After a three year break it’s been great returning, it’s bigger and better, joining forces to present the Orange Nation show every Saturday night feels like I have never been away. The show provides a weekly highlight from the sound of Orange Nation’s global events. Every week I am joined by one of Orange Nation’s leading resident DJs and when the internationals are in town, you’ll hear them with me too. It’s the only show on the airwaves that gives a true reflection on what is happening on the global dance floors.

As the radio presenter and long standing Orange Nation resident what can we expect from the radio show in 2016?

Since the launch in the summer of 2015 the show has been well and truly been developing it’s place. I continue to be approached by listeners when I am out and about with praise for the show or one of our DJ’s so we must be doing something right. 2016 will see some exclusive live broadcasts from the likes of the As One festival, exclusives sets at Ministry of Sound and loads more from across Europe, which you will only get with Orange Nation. There will also be competitions and the occasional interview so stay tuned and keep up the much-appreciated support.

What were your top tracks for last year?

The show may be a little different from the club but I always try to provide an accurate reflection of what is happening on our dancefloors across the globe. But my top 3 track have to be:

Micky Friedmann & Sagi Kariv Feat Geez – The Message

TWKD – Feel My Face (Taito Tikaro Private Remix)

Mark Knight + Prok & Fitch  – Into My Life

Who do you expect will be huge in 2016?

For the main room sound, Micky Friedmann is really coming into his own and producing some brilliant music. Since he sent me his new track ‘Let the beat’ with Geez a few months back I have been receiving some great feedback on it. For the darker sound, Adrian Hour has finally come through. Been hammering his work for the last 5-6 years and it’s really good to see him getting such successes with his collaboration with Mark Knight. But all in all, I expect the Orange Nation show to continue to grow along with the Orange Nation brand. We have already got some huge parties pencilled into the calendar this year including the return of the AS ONE Easter festival, which will see a collaboration of the some of the worlds biggest gay brands. Exciting times ahead!
