Escapism is needed more than ever right now! Thankfully, there’s a wealth of virtual cabaret shows happening during lockdown across social media. Jason Reid caught up with the Dorset tart with the very big… heart, Stephanie Von Clitz, to find out more about her show and lockdown life…
Hey Stephanie! How are you coping with lockdown and what’s your daily routine?
Yes, crazy times right now! I’m taking each day as it comes, living in hope. My routine has been quite random. I’ve been sleeping more, eating more, learnt more material, and I’ve been exercising more.
Tell us a bit about your virtual cabaret show.
It’s called Clitz’s Sunday Roast; featuring songs, discussions and lots of questions. I just want people to really, really enjoy it. It’s my chance to continue entertaining people during lockdown I hope they can just enjoy it, have lots of fun, and have a bit of relief and escapism during this time.
What’s the first thing you’ll do once lockdown is eased?
First thing I’ll do is see my friends and family who I miss terribly. And I can’t wait to be back on the road performing to audiences up and down the country.
Have you been tuning into any other cabaret live-streams?
Yes I have. It’s amazing to see so many artists doing online shows, quizzes, bingo, dance classes, brunches; there’s just so many. Please do support everyone.
Do you think this lockdown experience will change you?
I think this time has already changed me. As an artist it’s made me appreciate and actually work harder to be a better artist. It’s made me so much more grateful for everyone and everything around me.
