After a rousing return earlier this year, which saw him deliver the highly-praised offerings ‘U’ and ‘River’, progressive Washington DC-based artist Kris Kollins is back once again to unveil his passionate new single ‘SIDE FX’.

Continuing to explore the broad and shimmering side of the alt-pop spectrum, ‘SIDE FX’ marks one of his most romantically charged gems in recent times. Bringing back more of that raw and vibrant persona he injects into all of his material, he sweeps and soars his way through this buoyant effort, as it brims with dynamic textures throughout.

Speaking about his newest release, he told QX,It’s the feeling of being so infatuated with someone it feels like an addiction. You’re not yourself, but you feel lifted. Love and infatuation is pretty much a drug trip, and this song is about that….it’s a feeling that scares me, but I desire.”

Kris’ musical journey so far has known no bounds, from reaching the Top 30 Club Dance Charts in 2018 with ‘Hydro Llove’ to being signed with Global Publishing in the UK. Kris has worked alongside big names such as H.E.R, Joelle James (song writer of Boo’d Up), Loren Allred, and producer Ryan M. Tedder. He’s been on tour with Marsha Ambrosius and has opened for the likes of Bilal, and Dwele.

‘SIDE FX’ is out today. You can listen to it here.
