London’s Sober Clubbing Extravaganza is back for Valentine’s Day at Fire.
With two cracking events under their sparkly belts, The House of Happiness – London’s freshest alcohol and drug-free clubbing sesh – is back for 2023 with their third offering just in time for Valentine’s Day. Though don’t expect to hear any mushy love songs flooding the dancefloor.
Aptly titled ‘Love Shack’, you can expect more of the same big energy, banging house music, flamboyant entertainment, a decent selection of alcohol-free drinks, an iconic venue and a whole lot of love in the room! It’s the vibe that the team, made up of Emma, Jayney & Neil, are incredibly proud of – they’ve created something that delivers on what they set out to achieve: a night ‘out out’ experience during the day that boasts all the fun – minus hangovers and comedowns – that is also safe & inclusive for both the sober and queer communities, individuals and their allies. The event is for everyone and anyone who wants to give sober partying a go. The team also organise a popular pre-meet, so anyone coming on their own gets to meet up with other ravers beforehand. They have it all covered!
The buzzing audience is an eclectic mix of party people who gel beautifully, whether partying hard on the dancefloor or chatting at the bar. The entertainment is deliciously served by talented LGBTQ+ & sober artists who are making waves. DJ Harry Gay from Queer House Party delivered his usual rowdy blend of hard house & pop anthems in December. Sobriety Angel Heidi Liscious has mingled with the crowds, and you’ll find Alvin (Circa Embankment/ Homostash) and Cain (Feel It/ Outhaus) back on the podiums in February. Also joining them at Love Shack are returning guests dancer Anna (Zodiac) and DJ Lottie Lee from London’s Select Radio. Plus, they’ll have a first-time special guest appearance on the decks from drag performer, DJ & party starter Joan Oh! Joan Oh began their career with legendary queer collective Sink the Pink and now runs their nights in Barcelona.
Flying over especially for the event, Joan Oh says, “I’m used to being one of the only sober people at most parties, so I’m really looking forward to being surrounded by lots of fabulous glittery party people at The House of Happiness for a sober day rave!”
It’s hard to think of a better way to spend a Saturday afternoon, right? Even more so knowing you won’t have a dreaded hangover to contend with so you can enjoy your Sunday.
