Who are The Irrepressibles?
The Irrepressibles is the creative persona of Jamie Irrepressible, a composer-songwriter-producer who has made a name for himself in alternative music, captivating audiences worldwide.
Jamie Irrepressible was born and raised in Yorkshire, and his musical journey began at a young age. Immersed in classical music and progressive rock, he started composing instrumental pieces, laying the foundation for his future work. As a teenager, Jamie’s musical interests expanded, and he began playing in various bands, starting on guitar and later moving to vocals. When he moved to London in his twenties, his musical horizons widened. Attending dance music nights at Fabric, Heaven, and raves in the forest, Jamie drew inspiration from eclectic sources such as the KLF and the Sex Pistols. This led him to challenge musical norms and redefine his sound. Returning to orchestral compositions and infusing them with avant-garde and artistic approaches, punk rebellion, and the working-class tradition of honest storytelling, Jamie came up with the name for his project, The Irrepressibles.
