Set in a 60’s soundscape with modern sensibilities and a glorious orchestral outro, Destination is a joyous and stylish indie-pop song about the longing for love in this era of hook-up culture and fast-paced intimacy.

The track tells the story of a man living in isolation, going from one one-night stand to another, but longing for more connection.

He sings “Does it have to be this way from life this holiday? will you come and give my love a destination?”. At the end of the song, longing for the adventure of a partnership, he sings: “Oh Mr, these days love dont seem so clever, maybe it wont last forever, but theres a world of you and I, some big adventure we could try”.

To accompany the track comes a brand new video, directed by Jack Willoughby and produced by Liam Wallace-Cook of Blend Films.

About the video Jack Willoughby says: “Romance seems to happen in the most unlikely of places. So when a melancholic muscle man heads to a tropical aquarium to find his precious pet fish, he ends up impressing his own crush with an optimistic mating dance.”

Destination’ is the 5th single from the upcoming Irrepressibles’ album Yo Homo!. It follows hot on the heels of singles Will You?Yo Homo and Ecstasy Homosexuality, which have already amassed great feedback in the press, with Guy Garvey from Radio BBC 6 calling it “extraordinary” and Kaltblut Magazine predicting “a sonic revolution”. QX Magazine hails Jamie Irrepressible as “a queer artist we should all be celebrating”, whilst MTV Italy included Yo Homoin its Rock – Top 10 charts for eight weeks in a row.

Jamie Irrepressible’s creative guise The Irrepressibles returns with his fourth album ‘Yo Homo!’. A punk-rock indie-rock and often symphonic new sound world. Known for his highly emotionally charged works this album is no exception – yet the emotion here is sexy, dancy, witty, and occasionally queer-political. ‘Yo Homo!’ will be released through Of Naked Design records on the 27th September 2024 and can be pre-saved here: www.linktr.ee/theirrepressibles

Destination Full lyrics. Written & composed by Jamie Irrepressible.

I know in my heart, my beating heart, that I really need some urgency

I aimlessly move one day to the next with isolation my agency

Now I know I am an introvert man, yes I know I am a lonely Sam

But, I know in my heart, my beating heart, that I really need him with urgency

Does it have to be this way? From life this holiday? Will you come and give my love a destination?

Does it have to be this way? From life this holiday? Will you come and give my love a destination?

I know in my heart, my beating heart, that I really need some urgency

I aimlessly move from one day to the next with isolation my agency

Does it have to be this way? From life this holiday? Won’t someone come & give me a destination?

Does it have to be this way? From life this holiday? Won’t someone come & give me a destination?

Is it you? Is it you? Or you?

Stay a while? Stay a while? Instead of pulling your pants up with a smile

Is it you? Could it be you? Or you?

Does it have to be this way? Short stay cause we’re Gay?

Does it have to be this way? From life this holiday? Will you come and give my love a destination?

Does it have to be this way? From life this holiday? Will you come and give my love a destination?

Oh Mr these days love don’t seem so clever, maybe it won’t last forever, but there’s a world of you and I, some big adventure we could try

Mr these days love don’t seem so clever,  maybe it won’t last forever, but there’s a world of you and I, some big adventure we could try
