Cabaret Bohemia showcases some of the best talent across the international cabaret scene in a brand-new immersive experience that cannot be missed! QX got the lowdown on the latest collective to explode onto London’s vibrant cabaret scene.
What makes Cabaret Bohemia a night to remember?
Picture this. You arrive at an unmarked door in a London backstreet. Looking down at the business card in your hand, you realise this must be the place. Whispering a secret code, the door swings open…
The stuttering neon guides you down a staircase full of smoke to a bookcase, behind which you can hear the faint hum of jazz and the clink of martini glasses. You enter…
You’re greeted with drinks and shown to a table by a whisky-soaked showgirl. You take your seats and look up through the haze to find a sparkling chanteuse weaving her way through the audience as live musicians improvise a strangely familiar soundtrack… She drawls the lyrics to The Smiths: “There is a light that never goes out” over a New Orleans saxophone.
As the drinks flow and the lights lower, a spotlight focuses on her lips, and a hush descends. A beat.
