LGBTQ+ Cinema at The UK Jewish Film Festival

This year’s festival presents a bespoke strand of LGBTQ+ cinema. LGBTQ+ screenings this year include:

Concerned Citizen (Israel, 2022) focuses on a same-sex couple living in a migrant neighbourhood. The story centres around one of them witnessing an act of police brutality. Consequently, they both begin to question their liberal self-image. The film is a sharp critique of an unequal society.

The Swimmer (Israel, 2021) explores sexual desire set against a national swimming team’s hypermasculine and competitive world.

The Swimmer, 15 November at Picturehouse Central: Book Here.

The Therapy (Israel, 2021) is a documentary that looks into the abusive world of conversion therapy. This UK Premiere is followed by a discussion panel around the issues raised in the film.
