The Bristol Animal Rescue Centre will also be present to raise awareness about the important work they do.
Film Festival
The Queer Vision Film Festival is back with a full schedule of screenings over two weeks. A highlight of the festival will be a special 30th-anniversary screening of The Birdcage on Saturday, 4th July. This event will take place on Bristol’s largest cinema screen, The Megascreen (formerly the IMAX), at Bristol Aquarium.
Bristol Pride Shows
From Monday, 6th July, to Wednesday, 8th July, the creators of the international improv hit Murder, She Didn’t Writewill present their brand new improvised and unapologetically queer romance show, The Blank Who Blanked Me!, at the Wardrobe Theatre. Audiences can expect a blend of passion and pastiche, high drama and low comedy, plenty of laughter, and perhaps even the chance of true love in this world premiere.
The two weeks of events will feature a variety of activities, including improv theatre, LGBTQ+ sports events, choir performances, a gaming day, a special Pride edition of Drag Dungeoneers, and one of the festival’s biggest highlights: the Bristol Pride Comedy Night. This event will take place at the Bristol Old Vic on Thursday, 9th July, and will be hosted by Bristol icon Jayde Adams. The lineup will showcase leading LGBTQ+ comedians, including Sophie Duker, the winner of Taskmaster Series 13, with additional acts yet to be announced.
The festival culminates in Pride Day on Saturday, 11th July, with an expected 40,000 people participating in the free-to-join Parade March through the city centre. Following the parade, crowds will gather on The Downs for the Main Pride Day celebrations. This year, the Main Stage will be headlined by the global disco icons Sister Sledge, with Jason Donovan performing in the Afternoon Legend slot. Other featured artists include Black Box, Chloe Qisha, Absolute Britney, and Kelly Llorena. The beloved Cabaret Stage will also return, featuring a lineup led by RuPaul’s Drag Race stars Myki Meeks and Catrin Feelings, along with a diverse mix of international performers and the best of Bristol’s vibrant drag scene.
The Official Bristol Pride Afterparty
As day turns to night, the celebrations will continue with The Official Bristol Pride Afterparty, held at O2 Academy Bristol. This multi-room club event will feature DJs, performers, and dancers. This year’s party is headlined by international DJ and producer Jodie Harsh, renowned for her iconic blonde beehive and dancefloor-filling beats. In the main arena, Bristol favourites DTYM will perform alongside Jayde Adams, while Disco Wonderland and Mutual Vibes will provide music across the venue. There will also be special guest performers, creating a high-energy finale to Pride Day.
