Coal Drops Yard is a lively shopping and dining district in London’s King’s Cross. Originally built in 1850 to handle the capital’s annual coal delivery of eight million tonnes, it was also home to the nightclubs Bagley’s and The Cross. After reopening in October 2018, the area was reimagined by the renowned Heatherwick Studio, which seamlessly integrated modern design with the original Victorian coal drop structures and ironwork. Situated in historic buildings and arches next to Granary Square and Regent’s Canal, Coal Drops Yard is home to over fifty stores featuring a blend of well-known and up-and-coming brands, as well as cafes, bars, independent restaurants, and new public spaces.
