VICTORIA

13/04/13: Saturday proved an eventful night as Walthamstow homosexual hotspot, The Victoria, threw a gala cabaret and buffet charity bash in aid of local food bank, Eat or Heat, last weekend.

Following a mix-up resulting in the water supply being cut off at the last minute, the proceedings were forced to move along the road, lock stock and smoking tranny, to popular E17 landmark, The College Arms.

Meanwhile, after a whistle-stop tour of East London, your ever-intrepid QX finally got into the thick of things as drag superstar Miss Jason and pals (including Adora Dix, and ever-so-slightly stressed promoter Paul) triumphed over adversity to make it a party to remember.

Highlights saw Jason regaling the crowds with singalongs and sauciness, whilst there were star turns on the floor from the likes of Tammy Twinkle plus the dazzling deck action courtesy of DJ Lady C.

Elsewhere and the hotly-anticipated raffle draw featured stunning prizes taking in theatre tickets, 5 star hotel stays, trips to London Zoo and (scream!) a framed and signed photo of Olympic hero, Tom Daly, in his swimming trunks. As if that wasn’t sufficient to keep the proceedings chugging, a lavish spread of delectable finger food ensured there was plenty of fuel to get us partying into the small hours! A great success.

*The Victoria will be back to party business as usual this Saturday with Tammy Twinkle taking to the stage.
