QX PREVIEW: Fitladz

The cheeky chappy night has gone weekly

Come on, we ALL fancy guys in trakkies don’t we. Everyone fancies guys in trakkies or grey sweatpants. Well, everyone who’s attracted to guys anyway. And people who aren’t, are probably attracted to GIRLS in trakkies or grey sweatpants.

What is it about trakkies and grey sweatpants? Why are they so hot? Maybe it’s a fantasy left over from school locker room fantasies. Or maybe it’s a class thing. We’re getting a bit too deep into it now, let’s not overthink it.

Trakkies and grey sweatpants are hot, let’s leave it at that. And FITLADZ love ‘em, it’s their encouraged dresscode. “The reason why we all like grey trakkies – and it’s gotta be the right shade of grey – is coz of the swing,” says Fitladz promoter Steve Darragh. “The shade the shadow throws suggests what’s inside. It’s all about the tease and the promise!”. In case you haven’t heard of Fitladz before, it’s a cruise/club night dedicated to ‘scally’ lads – that kinda aesthetic.

Previously they’ve swaggered onto the London scene every few months, but now they’re going WEEKLY at East London den of debauchery Bunker Bar. You may recognize it from when it used to be Bloc South, but they’ve just stuff up inside and made it brand spanking new (cheeky).

There’s lots of dark corners to get down and dirty in, plus a fully stocked bar and DJ action from some of the scene’s best DJs.

So get them grey joggers out of the top drawer, pull on those Gola trainers and get on down there mate! WICKED.

Fitladz is every Friday night at Bunker Bar, 217 City Road, EC1V 1JN. 10pm – 5am. £10 entry including cloakroom and a free drink.
