RVT New Years Eve – Turning Twenty-Twenty at the Tavern

RVT New Years Eve
RVT New Years Eve.

Oh, ain’t that a lot of ‘t’s boys and girls? Spilling all the ‘t’s! Okay, that’s enough. Looking past the seasonal festivities, we’re chomping at the bit to celebrate a new year. RVT New Years Eve! Here’s what you have to look forward to at queer London’s favourite raucously regal roadhouse, The Royal Vauxhall Tavern:

New Year’s Eve BeefMince

Tuesday 31st December

Got beef? Taking over the hallowed halls of the RVT to ring in 2020 is a bulbous bash of bouncing bears. Leading on from the festive TurkeyMince, the fuzzy creatures of BeefMince are here to chime a Big Dong. Ready to bang the tongue of that midnight bell is the one and only Travy La Bouche, a vision in iron wool. She’ll be Auld Lang Syne-ing for the gods, before resident DJs Silverhook and Cactushead get those knobs twiddling behind the decks. Joining them will be special guest Tareq who’ll be keeping things going into the early hours. Tickets are selling out, so be sure to bear (lol) that in mind. Your ticket only guarantees entry before 11 pm, so be sure to head over early.

9pm – 5am. Tickets £20/£25. OTD £25.

Anthem – Old Skool Reunion

Wednesday 1st January

RVT New Years Eve

What better way to nurse that NYE hangover than with some pumping Old Skool classic. Sweat out those toxins to the retro dance Anthems of raves gone by. Served up by the RVT and Andy Almighty, this Retro New Year’s Day is all about bringing the talent. Taking to the stage will be an exclusive live set from Jonathan Hellyer and Jonathan Wakelin, who are teaming up as The Numan League. They’ll be setting your nerves on fire with a setlist of booty-shaking 80s synth-pop classics. Taking to the decks will be anthem anthologisers, DJs Simon Le Vans, Andy Almighty and Sean Sirrs. Kicking off at 3 pm, this party goes all the way to midnight.

3pm – Midnight. Tickets £8/£10.

Slipped: Cinderella… Rebooted

27th, 30th December & 2nd, 3rd, 8th January

RVT New Years Eve
Slipped : Cinderella Rebooted- RVT New Years Eve

Haven’t had a chance to catch the celebrated RVT Panto yet? Well, don’t get your bloomers in a twist. There’s still time to catch a performance. They’re keeping the “he’s behind you” action going until the 8th of January! This year’s panto takes on the classic story of Cinderella, but… you know, extra GAY. It is the Tavern panto, after all. Featuring a fixated prince, a pair of evil anti-geniuses in the form of the Stepmother and Stepsister, and a fairy godmother with some anger management issues, Slipped takes a drunken stumble through the lost chapters of Cinderella.

Doors 7pm, Show 8pm. Tickets £15/£16/£18.
