It’s like I’m a super fan of my friends! They don’t really know it. I try not to gush too much, I’m not a stalker or anything, I just love the inventiveness and passion they bring! Thinking up new shows, DJing, running around dressed up to the nines, putting on events and dedicating their lives to keeping us all entertained!
I just love Saint Ann, have you seen her?!?! Very stylish and quite demure with a stunning scouse accent, and this Thursday 23rd January Saint Ann is hosting The Karaoke Hole. The theme? Death Becomes Ye! Ann is urging us to sing a long to some macabre tunage with her, 9pm till 2am.
We all fancy a bit of DJ Mike Menace aka Michael Kelly don’t we?!?! He’s lovely and a great DJ. On Friday 24th at the Royal Vauxhall Tavern it’s party time with Frankie Goes To Vauxhall where Mike and that other hottie Neil Prince pull out the retro stops with a poptastic themed night! Think Pet Shop Boys, New Order and all the rest! 10pm till 3am!
An update on artist and activist Chiyo’s exhibition Nobody Said I Love You at VFD and the final evening of a week long art show on Saturday 25th January. From 8pm – 10pm catch the end of show showcase as Chiyo presents & questions provocative themes around the human condition and embarks upon their own personal transition.
Omg Stella Meltdown is up to their fabulous antics again! The glam and seemingly trashy (in the best possible way) Stella hosts a night called BIMBO! With special guests Cassandra and Lasagna joining in on Saturday 25th at John The Unicorn over at 157-159 Rye La e se151. What a fiasco! 9-1am. Free entry all night.
From Gay Garage comes night Pure Babes 2020. UK GAY & Just Do It Babes present a kickin’ UK garage party taking place at Bar A Bar, 133-135 Stoke Newington Road, up in Stokey on Saturday 25th January. Dj’s OYINBOY, TWICE SHY and HARRSN. The energy levels will be rising high with an underground scene that goes from strength to strength with a devoted following. 10pm till 4am.
Classic rave Kaos presents Kris Baha at Electrowerkz on Saturday 25th January. A major monthly night that prides itself on its discerning and knowledgeable taste in techno music. It’s major! 10.30 till the morning!
An Evening with Veda Lady & Mark T Cox at The Glory on Saturday 1st February at 8pm. It’s showtime with Irish drag icon Veda Lady who will be joining Mark T Cox at the piano for an evening of sublime lounge cabaret.
Dagmarr’s Cabaret – Songs Of Impossible Romance and Eternal Whoredom on Thursday 6th February, 8pm. A brilliant evening planned where singer Naommon croons a selection of compositions based around the Kurt Weill songbook with further adages from Cole Porter, Edith Piaff and even the Pet Shop Boys!
