Honey Honey has gone from strength to strength presenting London’s sweet new party for bears, cubs, chubs, daddies and their admirers. Following their successful Pride Special, Honey Honey returns to Electrowerkz on Friday 14 August, 10pm – 4am. QX had a chat with promoter Cactushead to find out more.

What inspired you to start your own club night, Honey Honey?

I love being part of the bear scene. I really felt like I found my tribe as a place for people of all shapes and sizes to come together without judgement. There was a clear space for a night built around the warmth and kindness that I thought was missing from the scene, whilst keeping a bit of cheekiness in mind. I can see the value for a place where people can chat and socialise, be entertained and have a little bop too. I think it’s a unique combo.

You’ve made some adjustments and added extra features along the way. What do you think the partygoers enjoyed the most about your Pride Special?

We have started focusing on cabaret a little more and I think people really responded to our performer Doctor Woof, who arrived in a burst of colour and energy and won everyone over. Having the superb Inflateacub was just the sort of joyful silly vibe we love too.

HONEY HONEY celebrated Pride with lashings of entertainment from the likes of otherworldly timebeast Doctor Woof, bouncing superball Inflateacub, our delectable Honey Bears and not to mention XXL legend Joe Egg. Friends were made and fun aplenty was had.

Are there any more changes planned for your next Honey Honey event, or do you believe the current formula is now set?

We’re constantly listening and regularly put out feedback posts as we want to create the best night for bears around, so I would say that we’re still on a journey. I’m really happy with each one and can see we’re building up a strong presence night after night. We want to hear from people, so let us know.

Where do you envision Honey Honey being this time next year?

I’m confident we’ll be in a super strong position because of our policy of listening, and working with the incredible Electrowerkz team, who are incredible partners. At the moment, we’re taking each party one at a time and nothing for granted though!
