This Friday, London’s queer venues, performers and activists are teaming up for “Night Pride”, a peaceful protest against violence towards the capital’s drag performers.

It comes after East London performer Camile Leon suffered an assault from multiple attackers on 10th January – according a Facebook status Camile posted, a group of seven men and women accosted Camile outside queer venue The Glory, yelling homophobic slurs and punching and hitting them.

In response to this and other attacks on queer performers in recent years, “Night Pride” has been organised to show that the community and its allies want to take a stand against violence and discrimination.

The protest will meet at 283A Kingsland Road at 9pm this Friday and march to Dalston Superstore, where there will be performances and speeches.
