Culture Trip Launches Secret LGBTQ+ History and Nightlife Virtual Talks

Giving viewers a glimpse as to what it means to be LGBTQ+ in the nation’s buzzing capital, London

Culture Trip – the app for curious travellers to get inspired, plan and book – is today announcing its launch of ‘Secret LGBTQ+ History and Nightlife Virtual Talks’, giving viewers a glimpse as to what it means to be LGBTQ+ in London.

Starting this Wednesday 16th September and running until mid-December, the 1.5 hour experiences will be hosted by notable LGBTQ+ activist and Founder of nightlife tour company, ‘Moonlight Experiences’, Aisha Shaibu.

The virtual talks will take a deep dive into London’s queer history, covering everything from LGBTQ+ stories of queer kings and queens, to the importance of entertainment in gay nightlife.

Viewers will discover and explore a hidden side of history that is rarely taught in school, all of which can be enjoyed from the comfort of their own home.

What’s more, guests joining in from around the globe will get the chance to dive even deeper with a live Q&A with Aisha, followed by a glitter-soaked finale of talented drag queens and kings spoiling participants with live performances.

Can’t make it to LGBTQ Soho anytime soon? No problem.

Those looking to book simply need to visit Culture Trip to bag themselves a ticket. All talks start at 5.30pm across different weekdays and weekends, and tickets are priced at £10.00.

The ‘Secret LGBTQ+ History and Nightlife Virtual Talks’ forms part of Culture Trip’s ‘Stay Safe, Stay Curious’ campaign which invites people to explore and experience cultures, cities and countries – and to get outdoors where possible – while travel is restricted. This includes outdoor experiences which can be booked online such as an Art & Food Walk with Women of Culture (NYC), a Brooklyn Street Art Tour with a Graffiti Pioneer, and an African American Heritage Walking Tour of Shaw (Washington DC). It also features online experiences aimed at connecting people with experiences around the world from their home including a Black Representation in Art Virtual Tour, a Tanjia class with chef Khalid Berdouzi from his riad in Marrakesh or a Shakshuka & Hummus class with chef Atalya Ein Mor from her kitchen in Jerusalem to bring both wanderlust and hungerlust into everyone’s kitchens at home.
