Since its debut in 2022, Feeling Afraid As If Something Terrible Is Going to Happen has been one of the standout solo shows of recent years. The play was penned by Marcelo Dos Santos, who previously wrote Backstairs Billy. Matthew Xia directs, known for The Harder They Come and Tambo & Bones. Feeling Afraid As If Something Terrible Is Going to Happen stars the talented Steven Webb, who many will recognise for his roles in The History Boys, The Book of Mormon, and Shucked.
QX interviewed Marcelo Dos Santos about the show back in 2023 and you can read the interview here.
This darkly funny yet deeply emotional production first premiered at the Roundabout Theatre during the Edinburgh Festival Fringe before moving to London, where it won several awards across its two runs.
After selling out performances and even touring Australia, the show has continued to resonate with audiences thanks to its sharp wit and insightful take on anxiety, intimacy, and self-sabotage. The show recently wrapped up a successful summer run in the U.S. at Studio Theatre in Washington. This was the first time that American viewers saw the show.
Feeling Afraid As If Something Terrible Is Going to Happen runs from 19 November – 10 January at The Other Palace, 12 Palace Street, London SW1E 5JA, United Kingdom.
