Futuristic Folktales: the story of the first womb

Apr 18, 2024 @ 7:30 pm
£14

Featuring music from trans musician Malin Lewis (Malin Makes Music) and disabled, trans writer Nelly Kelly (68 Months in Waiting; The Dogwood; Untitled 2009), Mclean’s latest work explores the tenuous story of the first womb through experimental dance, music, and theatre. Deeply felt and intimate, the show sees two performers birth and unbirth each other – asking us what exactly we’d dance and move for if asked to dance for hope? Futuristic Folktales is a collaboration-driven show that aims to disrupt and refresh expected performance formats through radical and emotive explorations of reproductive justice and injustice, body politics, bodily autonomy, and identity. “Exhilarating… jaw-droppingly bold and clever show.” – The Scotsman.
