Halloween in Soho – Preview: Freedom celebrates in style this month

“It’s what gays do – they munch butts and celebrate Halloween.” Never have truer words been uttered. Us queers love the ooky-spooky season and Halloween in Soho is the perfect excuse to get three ghost sheets to the wind.

One of Soho’s best-loved gay cocktail joints is getting a spider-webbed makeover, and throwing a week of parties in the name of all things eerie;

Halloween Party

Saturday 26th October 8pm – 3am

The Saturday before the big day is when things get really messy. London will be littered with gays in revealing costumes, and drunk girls called Becky dressed as a handmaiden waiting for a Big Mac. Over at Freedom Bar, they’re celebrating Halloween all day and night. The day’s theme is DRESS TO KILL, so be sure the costume comes correct. Here are a few inoffensive costumes if you’re still unsure of what to wear: a crazy Swede from Midsommar, the fox from Fleabag or Timothée Chalamet’s almost-there moustache. Halloween drinks, dancing and flirtations at Freedom.

Kinky Kabaret

Monday 28th October Show at 11pm.

The iconic Monday night cabaret is being possessed by the seasonal spirit. A quirky and creepy take on the evening of performances. Bringing together a talented group of West End and off-West End performers for an evening of burlesque, drag and cabaret. Expect black eyeliner, black glitter costumes and a lot of Phantom.

No No! Show – Halloween Special

Wednesday 30th October Show at 11pm

Shocking, daring and just a bit spooky, it’s a very special Halloween themed No No! Show. Shake your witchy fingers in the air for this week’s cabaret extravaganza. Expect the unexpected! Prepare for the, err, unpreparable. Join Amy Black and her Candy Heartbreakers for a dazzling spooktacular that’s sure to blow your striped knee-length socks off.

SHAME – Halloween Ball

31st October 8pm – 3am

Why are you screeching so? They bring it to you ever Halloween Ball. On the spookiest night of the year, Freedom is being taken over by a trio of devilish divas. Make way for the Divas from Hell. Janie Johnson, fresh from a UK tour, Kalon Rae, just back from team Tom Jones on The Voice and Soul chart-topper Rachel Mattews are set to unite like the witches of Macbeth. This evening of SHAME is sure to have you shaking your rotten cabooses. Pumping through the speakers until the early hours will be a dose of Disco, Soul, Funk and House courtesy of resident DJ Micky Galliano with a guest set from DJ Mista Pierre.

Celebrate Halloween in Soho at Freedom Bar, 60-66 Wardour Street, Soho, W1F 0TA. Head to FreedomBarSoho.com to find out more.
