Cabaret: Harem of No One

Jan 20 @ 7:00 pm3:00 am

Harem Of No One queer cabaret night in east London gay bar.

One Last Gullüm at the Glory! The Glory is closing! And in the words of Harem of No One, “While we are excited for the new beginnings, we are weeping for our mother’s womb, where it all started, where Harem of No One was founded. And as you know, us SWANA people, we are very emotional about our mothers and about leaving. So we are going to be dramatic about it, sorry not sorry.

‘Gullüm’ is a very specific word from the queer slang language of Turkey: Lubunca. It means the laughs and the fun that you have with your chosen family at the darkest of times, when there seems to be no hope. It comes from the strength of solidarity and the resistance towards the struggles that we regularly face and how we ‘Make a Ball’ out of it. We are living through one of the bleakest periods of our times and it’s time we find our resistance inside and make a Gullüm out of it,  to bid our farewell and our gratitude in the best way we know: by throwing one final amazing show! We are going to be dramatic and reminisce the best moments of Harem of No One at this legendary mecca of drag cabaret scene of East London.”
