Luvvie
Luvvie has been created as a space where LGBTQIA+ performers, creatives, production and anyone else in the performing arts can come together outside the pressures of auditions, rehearsal rooms and the industry itself, to meet, talk, dance, celebrate and make meaningful connections – as well as let off some steam.
The evening will feature performances from comedian and broadcaster, James Barr, NYC cabaret legends Justin Elizabeth Sayer and Fempath, drag queen and vocal powerhouse, Shar Cooterie, BootCamp Miss Congeniality winner, Josh Sanchez and hosted by Queer Theatre’s resident drag queen, Aura Gasm.
There will also be an industry raffle packed with genuinely useful and brilliant prizes, including a one-year Spotlight membership donated by David Flynn of Spotlight UK, a cinematic showreel scene from The Showreel Company donated by Ned Wakeley, a Kindle Fire HD Colour Tablet donated by Christian Pankhurst, tickets to Fame – The Musical in Plymouth, tickets to The Traitors: The Live Experience, signed books from Sir Stephen Fry and Cheryl Fergison, a month of free Acting Classes for LGBTQIA+ People, three months of tickets to Queer Play Reading Club including play texts, and a VIP table for two to see Kerry Ellis on The Show People Podcast LIVE, with more still to be announced.
The optional dress code is Gods & Monsters — inspired by folklore, Greek mythology, queer popular culture, or however you wish to express yourself. Dressing up is warmly encouraged, though absolutely not required.
