17/03/12: The wonders of Walthamstow were in full flow as local landmark The Victoria threw open the doors for a storming St Patrick’s Day bash.
QX hopped on the tube, a mere super-speed scoot from the West End, for a night of cabaret queens and shamrockin’ shenanigans that kept the East London hotspot partying ‘til late. Welcoming host Paul has been drawing in the crowds since launching his monthly Saturday gay nights two and half years ago.
Now running weekly, the E17 guys and gals just keep coming back for more thrilling dancefloor sounds from DJ Dizzy, along with regular drag shows, karaoke and traditional Sunday lunches at just £6.50.
Highlights saw superstar drag duo, CK, aka demure and unassuming Crystal d’Canter and Kelly Mild, glamming it up on stage with a rundown of showtunes and sassiness as QX made the most of The Victoria’s decidedly un-West End drinks prices. Meanwhile, it was Vodka jelly shots for all as the Emerald Isle-themed antics continued right through to 3am! The Victoria hosts gay nights every Saturday from 8.30pm.
