#GAYSTER

02/04/16: Last Saturday New Bloomsbury Set played host to #Gayster (yes, HASHTAG GAYSTER. With a HASHTAG).

It’s a night of networking and general debauchery for the twink twittersphere. Twinks and Twitter go very well together. It’s a world of selfies, soft porn and Ariana Grande gifs. What a world! Anyway, they were out in force on Saturday.

Mincing back and forth with vodka tonics and asking each other how many followers they had. Lovely. The hair flip quota was off the scale, as was the Topman skinny jeans quota.

I’d been drinking on Hampstead Heath with my lawyer friend for most of the day, and we turned up in an Uber exec wearing sunglasses and feeling ourselves a bit too much. We were taken down a peg or two when we realized we were the oldest ones there by a good ten years.

We got over it by drinking alcohol and being judgemental. New Bloomsbury Set was absolutely packed, and there was a definite VIBE. A bustling, youthful one. Which is what all bars want really. An 18 year-old gymnast asked if I’d buy him a drink and I found myself unable to say no.

But then, has ANYONE ever said no to an 18 year-old gymnast? I think you just need to say yes. It’s one of those rules in life.

Like buses arriving just as you light your cigarette, or it always raining when you go camping. Just. One. Of. Those. Rules. So remember, go to New Bloomsbury Set. And always say yes to 18 year-old gymnasts.
