03/10/11: One of our favourite watering holes, and a gem in the heart of Bloomsbury, NBS has the hip vibe of an underground New York bar and is always stuffed with attitude-free and gorgeous, trendy blokes.
We popped along at the beginning of the week for the first of their monthly live music nights with the über talented Matt Stringer and Hana Smyth.
A show in two halves, act one saw the singers take turns with slow heartfelt ballads from the likes of Evanescence, We Will Rock You, Dream Girls and even the premier of their duet of Adele’s ‘Someone Like You’ that’s about to be recorded.
After a suitable interlude to top up on the cocktails and catch up with friends in the packed audience, Matt and Hana cranked up the tempo to come back with more upbeat numbers and I quote, “some crazy shit”! A brilliant night of hot music and icy cocktails… perfect for these balmy evenings.
