17/12/11: QX Club News hitched a sleigh ride to Vauxhall as the mighty Bear Necessity hit town for a hot ‘n’ hairy happy Christmas blowout last weekend.
Attracting a near-capacity crowd of burly blokes, dirty daddies and lovely lads, not to mention the odd saucy Santa, a night of big beats and hulkin’ homos saw Hidden hosting two rampaging rooms of festive fun that had the garrulous guys getting their jingle bells jangling right through the night.
Featuring enough top class DJ talent to satisfy even the most hard to please of Chrimbo queens, the heaving main room saw rocket-charged pumpin’ house sets from HiFi Sean and Louis Lennon working the dancefloor into a sweaty frenzy.
Next door and Macho City superstar, Dave Kendrick, wowed the boys with classic Chicago house, disco and underground smashes, including a monumental mash-up of the Bee Gees ‘Stayin’ Alive’ that got us QXers gyrating like they did in 1979.
London just can’t seem to get enough of beefed-up bashes these days – and Amsterdam’s biggest bears party has more than made its mark on the capital this year. Here’s to even more Bear Necessity madness in 2012!
