15/06/13: Even in a city like London, we sometimes forget our street cred and find ourselves being a tad too metrosexual for our own good.
On Saturday night we made sure to bring back some flava at Bootylicious. Nowhere does urban quite like Saaf London, and nowhere does “urban-ique” quite like Bootylicious.
Taking place at Club Colosseum, we found ourselves in a krunk-off of low-slung jeans, ‘tude and perhaps just a touch of ghetto gold for good measure. Music-wise, it took itself pretty seriously but with a few knowing nods to the weekend crowd.
East Coast met South East with a hybrid of Bronx-lite Rnb and Peckham dance hall, Chelsea deep house and Brixton old-school garage. DJs Biggy C, Jeffrey Hinton, DJ Tyron and Sugarbear took the decks in the Main Room and Red Room, while those needing a breath of fresh air admired the river views.
As the last MC of the night took to the stage, we swaggered off home and slut-dropped onto the bus. The 88 has never felt so dope, y’all.
