01/10/11: We have to admit that when we rocked up to G-A-Y on Saturday we weren’t entirely sure who Romanian Alexandra Stan was.
Shameful I know, but four bars into the first track and we were suddenly, “Oh, it’s her! We love this song”, and indeed as she launched in to ‘Mr Saxobeat’, the biggest selling single of the year, the audience were jumping about deliriously.
More tracks from her debut album Saxobeats followed along with a cover of Duffy’s ‘Mercy’ before a reprieve of ‘Mr Saxobeat’ closed the show and we all retired to the Departure Lounge (Alexandra included) for cake and cocktails for cute little Alex’s birthday… Another top night under the arches.
