28/07/11: With all this warm weather and the resulting shedding of clothing by the general public, particularly one set of builders we encounter on a regular basis, come Thursday night we were randier than a moth in a pheromone factory, so trotted along to the cock-fest that is G-A-Y Porn Idol. This week’s fodder for the sharp-tongued judges – Joe, Nathaniel and Daniel, seated Loose Women-like on a leather sofa – included the usual unemployed, waiters, artists and tourists… and even a girl (yes a girl, and in lace panties no less!), with the crowd as warm and enthusiastic with her as with the boys. After much cavorting to pop tunes, the £100 was awarded to a duo, Phil and Christian, plucked from the audience, one of whom had a HUGE talent! Recently, our fave paper (not!) The Sunday Mail (boo hiss) accused Porn Idol of being lewd in front of a jeering, baying crowd, but how wrong they were – it’s fun, voluntary and a giggle. This is no professional strip show with the performers fluffing themselves to make the most of their assets, but more an innocent romp through sexuality. Long-live G-A-Y Porn Idol!
