HAPPY SHOPPER

HAPPY SHOPPER

09/04/11: We know reviewers aren’t supposed to be so gushing (the term ‘critic’ does lend itself to the word ‘critical’ after all) but it was wall-to-wall deliciousness at DSS last weekend. The camp tomfoolery of Sink The Pink collided with the ice-cool Hoxtonista demeanour of Dalston Superstore for another bout of Happy Shopper. And, trust us, there was more fun to be had here than there was in the now defunct brand of 80s corner shops. For starters, how many superstar international DJs would fly in for some overpriced bread and milk? Canadian DJs Azari & III brought their disco electro vibe to glamorous East London for a frenzied two-hour set of batty whinin’ proportions. No strangers to the delightful Sink The Pink DJs Attack, Attack, Attack, we joined them and the FABULOUS Holestar as they served up sounds that had us dancing like loons and our cracks sweating like Niagra falls… I know, what lovely imagery. For once it wasn’t just the gorgeous array of skinny-jeaned, asymmetrical-haired wonders that had our genitalia throbbing like a freshly punched eye socket. The tuneage and atmosphere were electric and we’ll certainly be loading up our granny’s shopping trolley at the next Happy Shopper!
