Matinée: The Island @ Clapham Grand – Sunday 16th April, 2017
The Grand in Clapham was the chosen location for this latest edition of Matinée, which came as part of a bank holiday weekend-long clubbing extravaganza sheltering under the umbrella name: As One. The venerable Victorian dame had been turned for the occasion into a metaphorical pleasure island, welcoming a motley crew of muscle boys and party people to its imaginary shores. Gyrating pirates and ripped shipmates periodically took to the stage to add exoticism to the proceedings and enhance the enjoyment of the heaving ocean of sexiness filling what used to be the stalls. The men were hot, and the beats, delivered by the likes of Zach Burns or Tom Stephan, were searing. If all that doesn’t float your boat, we’re not sure what will.
