16/02/13: Everyone may be talking about The Shard but, quite frankly, we’re far more interested in London Bridge’s other grand opening: ‘This Is Prohibition’ has launched at The Sidings.
Bringing four grand dames of clubbing together, Lovechild, Bear Necessity, Queer Nation and Butch happily moved into the arches and made themselves at home last Saturday. The new residents certainly had the neighbours asking for more than a cup of sugar.
The queue for the cloakroom was indicator enough that this was going to be a busy housewarming, and an eclectic one at that. The fur was by no means limited to the bears; glammed up trannies mingled with the butchest of boys, all keen to escape the cold with their Early Bird tickets and dancing feet. DJs included Alan K, Tony English, Sharon O Love, and Alessandro Londra, amongst others in the mix.
Despite the name of the night, the music flowed as freely as the drinks and nobody seemed in the mood for saying ‘No’ to a good time. Welcome to London Bridge, Prohibition!
